Buying Bullion from Us
Northwest Territorial Mint is a major dealer in gold, silver, platinum and palladium bullion in the U.S. and Canada. As one of the nation's largest private mints, we buy and sell precious metals for both industry and personal investing. We offer a wide variety of bullion products, and we are a trusted retailer of U.S. Mint products including American Eagle gold and silver bullion coins.
We would like to be your bullion dealer of choice today and in the future, and we work hard to make that happen. We have no hidden charges. Shipping in the continental U.S. is free for bullion orders above minimum quantities; we do not charge sales tax, and do not charge for handling and insurance. We don't ask you to open an account – you can buy from us with a simple phone call.
We appreciate your business and try to make your bullion purchase as easy as possible!

Terms And Conditions
Your Price Lock is a Binding Agreement
We indicate precious metal prices on our Web site, but market movements often occur more rapidly than updates allow. Because precious metals prices can change by the minute, all bullion orders must by placed by telephone so that your purchase can be locked in at the prevailing market price (our so-called "ask" price) at the time you place your order.
This Price Lock Policy protects both you as a customer and Northwest Territorial Mint from price changes due to market fluctuations. Your position in the precious metals market is established at the moment of your transaction.
Anytime after you have remitted good funds to Northwest Territorial Mint for your order, you may liquidate your purchase at the prevailing market price – even before your product has been shipped to you.
First-Time Customers and Orders over $5,000
For orders from first-time customers and for all purchases greater than $5,000, we require a credit card to hold your order until good funds have been received (see “Waiting Period for Checks” below).
We will never charge the full amount of your order onto your credit card. However, if we do not receive payment for your order within ten days, Northwest Territorial Mint will liquidate your position based on the prevailing market purchase price at the time of liquidation. Your credit card will be charged a $35 processing fee plus any market loss that may result if the metal price has decreased since your order was placed. You will not benefit from any market gain.
Summary and Invoice – E-mail and US Postal Service Mail
After your order has been confirmed on the phone, we will send you an e-mail with a summary of your order and an invoice for your purchase at the locked-in price that you agreed to pay. A copy of this summary and invoice will also be sent by surface mail.
Your price is locked in and your purchase is confirmed on the telephone at the time you place your order, and confirmation is not dependent upon your receipt of the summary and invoice. Failure to receive the summary and invoice by e-mail or surface mail does not invalidate or cancel your order. It is your responsibility as a customer to follow up with us if you do not receive an e-mailed invoice within 24 hours of your order.
Allow E-mail from nwtmint.com
We strive to have clear and prompt communication with our customers and find that e-mail provides a written and timely means to do so.
Make sure your personal e-mail account will accept messages from Northwest Territorial Mint. You may need to add nwtmint.com to your address book or accepted senders list. If you do not get an e-mailed summary and invoice from us, please check your junk or spam mailbox – often our customers who do not add us to their address book will find messages from us there. Contact your e-mail service provider if you have questions about the use of message filters.
Price Lock Policy – No Cancellations
When you place your telephone order and we have locked in your price, you enter into a binding contractual agreement with Northwest Territorial Mint to remit payment in full based on the prevailing market purchase price agreed upon at the time your order was placed. As such, we have a no-cancellation policy. Audio of your transaction will be recorded to assure that we are in agreement on both the quantities and pricing of your order.
If we do not receive payment for your order within ten business days, Northwest Territorial Mint will liquidate your position based on the closing price on the London Metals Exchange on the eleventh business day after your purchase. You will be charged a $35 processing fee and liable for any market loss. You will not benefit from any market gain. If your credit card is declined for any reason, your account will be turned over to collections.
If you have previously failed to remit payment on an order, Northwest Territorial Mint reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse any new order from you or liquidate your current order and hold you responsible for any market loss.
Corrections for Errors
Northwest Territorial Mint reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order when the confirmed price is incorrect due to data transmission errors or computer-related problems.
Minimum Orders
The minimum orders for telephone customers vary with the product being purchased. Please consult the individual product page to determine its minimum. For walk-in customers, we have no minimum order.
Payment by bank wire transfer may be required for large orders. During volatile markets, we may require payment by wire transfer.
No Sales Tax – Tax Responsibility
Precious metal bullion sales are not taxable in the State of Washington, and sales taxes are not collected on any bullion orders. Northwest Territorial Mint is not required to collect sales tax for other states.
The customer has sole responsibility to comply with any other tax consequences that may arise as a result of transactions with Northwest Territorial Mint.
Payment Required within Two Business Days
Prompt payment is required; checks must be postmarked within two business days of placing the order. Failure to make prompt payment could result in the liquidation of your order at the sole discretion of Northwest Territorial Mint, and you could be held liable for a $35 cancellation fee and any market losses that may have occurred since your order was placed.
On first-time orders and transactions greater than $5,000, we do ask for a credit card to guarantee your order until we receive payment. Your credit card will not be charged unless you do not send payment (see "Price Lock Policy" above).
Methods of Payment
Personal Checks, Cashier's Checks, Money Orders & Wire Transfers
We gladly accept personal checks, cashier's checks, money orders and bank wire transfers.
Waiting Period on Checks
There is a ten-day period for personal checks and a five-day period for cashier's checks or money orders between the time we deposit your check and when your order enters the shipping queue. This waiting period allows us to be sure that funds are available and your check has cleared.
You may see that your check has cleared before the end of the waiting period, but please understand that due to bank privacy laws, we cannot query your bank on when your check clears.
Wire Transfers
Bank wire transfer enables us to provide you with the fastest service. Wire transfers are recorded as good funds on the next business day. Instructions on sending wire transfers.
Credit Cards are Not Accepted for Payment on Bullion Orders
Credit card companies charge businesses from 2 to 4 percent for the privilege of handling transactions made with their cards. Our bullion sales operate on a very low margin (in most cases, it is less than 2 to 4 percent) in order to offer extremely low prices to our customers, so we are unable to accept credit or debit cards as payment for bullion purchases.
While we cannot accept credit or debit cards for bullion products, we do accept them for non-bullion orders, and we do ask for a credit card to hold your first-time order and any orders greater than $5,000 until we receive payment.
Payment with U.S. Funds
While Northwest Territorial Mint welcomes purchases made by persons living outside of the U.S., we do not permit cash payment in non-U.S. currency.
Canadian customers may send checks by marking them to be paid in U.S. dollars.
Wire transfers from foreign banks are accepted provided that funds have been converted to U.S. currency prior to the transaction being initiated. Before sending payment via wire transfer, customers are advised to take into account any extra fees that may be assessed by their financial institution or any intermediaries involved in the transaction.

Shipping Policy
Shipping is free on orders for customers in the continental U.S. who make a minimum bullion purchase of 50 ounces of silver or five ounces of gold, platinum or palladium over the phone. Deliveries to addresses in Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada have a nominal shipping charge.
Our policy is to ship orders within 28 days after receipt of good funds (see “Waiting Period on Checks” above). Since we make many of our products to order and because we are a broker for some products from other sources, unforeseen increases in demand for certain bullion products may delay shipment of your order.
Click here for information about possible shipping delays.
Buy-Back Policy
While you wait for your shipment, please know that your investment position in the market was secured at the moment of your transaction, even before we received your payment! You may sell it back to us at the prevailing market price any time after you have remitted good funds, before or after your product has shipped.
Resolution of Disputes
All disputes related to any transaction with Northwest Territorial Mint shall be governed by the internal laws of the State of Washington.
The venue for the resolution of any dispute arising out of this agreement shall be exclusively in the Superior Court for King County, Washington and shall not be removed therefrom.
Northwest Territorial Mint’s liability in any dispute shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the customer for the items in dispute less the fair market value of those items. Under no circumstance shall Northwest Territorial Mint be held liable for indirect, incidental, additional, punitive, exemplary or consequential damages, even if Northwest Territorial Mint has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Rights and Remedies
In the event of a default of this agreement by the customer, Northwest Territorial Mint shall have all the rights and remedies of a secured party under the Revised Code of Washington in addition to the rights and remedies contained in this agreement.
Force Majeure
In the event of adverse conditions in the metals markets or other factors outside the control of Northwest Territorial Mint, including, but not limited to, acts of God, national emergencies, adverse governmental actions, the suspension by U.S commodity exchanges of trading of gold, silver, platinum or palladium futures contracts or the delivery of the commodities underlying such contacts, or the failure or delay of suppliers, the maximum time for delivery of such commodities may be extended indefinitely during the period of such adverse circumstances.
Northwest Territorial Mint will not be responsible for delays or failures in the transmission, receipt or execution of orders, payments, deliveries or information due to the incapacity or failure of computer or communications equipment or facilities which are outside the control of Northwest Territorial Mint.
Periods of High Volume Trading
During periods of highly active trading in the metals markets, telephone lines at Northwest Territorial Mint may remain busy for extended periods of time because of the volume of incoming calls that we receive. Because market prices can fluctuate throughout the day, transactions will only be conducted by live telephone conversation or in person at our Auburn, Washington office. No transactions will be conducted through e-mail, fax, telegram, courier messenger, or other means.
