Preparing the Silver

Silver used for bullion production arrives at our 30,000 square foot facility in the form of 100oz to 1000oz bars. In our on-site metal processing facilities, silver is melted in a gas fired furnace. Impurities float to the top of the molten silver. The impurities are removed from the furnace to maintain quality of the final product.

The silver is ladled into molds. These cylindrical shapes are called "billets". Billets weigh approximately 25lb.

The billets are heated before being extruded. This ensures a more uniform strip of silver.

The extrusion process forces the heated silver through a small rectangular opening, drawing it into long thin strips of soft annealed metal.
